December 2011 - I've noticed that several people have been searching the terms "why is my Lady's Slipper orchid blooming now?" So I wanted to take a moment to say that if your lady slipper orchid is inside, that yes, it will begin growing and blooming in December.

This is because most of the commercial Lady Slipper orchids that are found in the stores are produced to be grown indoors and are a different species than those that grown in woodlands.

Those species that are grown outdoors will begin to pop up around May.
