Aging in Place Home Safety Assessment
This is a complete in home evaluation of either an aging parent’s or a caregiver’s home to uncover potential dangers lurking in and around the home. We will make written recommendations for home modification and/or adaptations that will ensure a higher degree of safety for the senior citizen and the ability to remain at home for a longer period of time. We will also provide a list of important local resources and their contact information.
Because this is an on-site service, it is currently available in and around Kootenai and Bonner Counties and in the Spokane, Washington area.
From time-to-time, I do travel to the southern California area and would be delighted to arrange an in-home assessment for you while I’m there. Cost: $200.00
As a caregiver, you’ll want to assemble your own team to help you through this often difficult time. One of the team members you may want to utilize is a geriatric care manager.
Why?
As a Registered Nurse Geriatric Care Manager, I provide a comprehensive assessment that evaluates a client’s safety, medical diagnoses and conditions, medications, financial, legal, family and social issues.
A written care plan is then created for the client and family which can be utilized as a blueprint for future care.
I can help with arranging home services, recommendations to financial and legal elder specialists, reviewing financial, legal and medical issues, acting as a liaison for families at a distance, overseeing care and alerting families to problems.
I can also help to transition an aging parent into a higher level of care.
Other offerings are education, advocacy, counseling and support.
Shelley is a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers. www.caremanager.org)
Cost: $250.00 initial assessment and then $150.00 per hour thereafter.

Caregiver Health Coaching
As caregivers, we often neglect our own health and well-being. To prevent caregivers from becoming care RECIPIENTS, the need for supportive action is critical.
If you want MORE –
joy, simplicity, peace of mind, the ability to laugh easily, a better quality of life
and LESS –
stress, frustration, financial pressure, feelings of guilt and anger and loneliness
- If your diet is out of control
- If your heart is “skipping beats” and your blood pressure is rising
- If the phrase “good night’s sleep” is foreign to you
- If you’re suffering with headaches, stomach aches, muscle pains
- If you can’t remember the last time you had FUN….
Then you can benefit from health coaching with Shelley.
