I never signed up to be a caregiver.  I don’t think many of us have.  The role of caregiver often comes to us suddenly and unexpectedly.  In my case, I was working 12 hour shifts as a registered nurse  in a hospital when my father came to live me.  It quickly became apparent that he needed more than just a place to live.  He needed someone to take care of him.

The weeks and months that followed were an emotional roller coaster.  It wasn’t until I finally accepted my role as a caregiver that I began to learn what I needed to know and  do what I needed to do to make both our lives peaceful again.  It took a lot of research and a lot of reflection.

Having cared for my father in my home for more than 4 years and now involved in my mother’s care by long distance, I have come to understand both the joys and frustrations of caregiving.  My passion is to make your caregiving experience more enjoyable and more peaceful by offering you encouragement, empathy, education and empowerment all in one place!

Jim Rohn says: “One person caring about another represents life’s greatest value”.
